1589 Chico Bicalho was born in Rio de Janeiro and studied at an elementary school where the football field had trees throughout, because the school was against cutting them down. Later he moved to Petropolis, RJ, an area surrounded by the South Atlantic tropical rainforest. He believes in having a spiritual life, in freedom, and in peace. He supports the theory that the earth is one living thing and feels that humans should understand nature, live with nature, and be equal to nature. He received a BFA in sculpture from RISD and MFA in photography NYU. Since 1995, he has been working with a group of friends on reforestation projects replanting native South Atlantic tropical rain forest trees. Chico lives in Rio with his wife, a graphic designer / industrial designer called Isabella Torquato. He wants to keep traveling, making art, and planting trees. Zecar came in to this world for a very important mission, other than to entertain us. All of the proceeds from the royalties will go towards reforestation projects in Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil. The funds will contribute to the planting of thousands of trees a year to help restore part of the Atlantic Tropical Rainforest, the most critically damaged in Brazil, with the richest variety of trees of anywhere in the world. To push Zecar, hold the front and the rear ends, not the sides, and gently give his wheels a spin by dragging them on a surface. Zecar has lots of torque, and he moves rather slowly. You can choose to have the traction be the front, or the rear wheels. You can also slide him upside-down on his flywheel and two free spinning wheels. Zecar is not a race car, nor a demolition derby machine. He should not fall off tables, nor should he be slammed around. | I got two of these for my 5 year old and my 21 month old. They loved them. This isn't the fastest car out there but it just keeps rolling and rolling at it's on steady pace. The girls were fascinated by the gears. Great stocking stuffer. My husband enjoyed the cars almost as much as the girls. A great way for them to bond. |

Received this toy for a birthday. It's cute, but it only lasted a few mintues of play before breaking. Works by spinning up a flywheel which keeps the car going after you stop pushing it. My kids and I found that the main flywheel gear tends to slip after just a few pushes, and we can see that the contact between the gears is clearly worn a groove into one of the gears, allowing it to slip quite a bit. This was after only 10 minutes!
Agree with the other reviewer that it isn't appropriate for little kids due to the exposed gears. And definitely keep this thing away from long hair!! |
be careful, my child cut his finger on this toy

We received this toy as a gift for our 3 year old. He enjoyed playing with it for a couple of months (although not more than other cars). But today he cut his finger on the gears.
I don't think exposed gears are appropriate in a toy that is commonly being used by toddlers. |
